Bank texts into Akimoa, by themselves
iPhone doesn't let apps read your messages. Instead, you set up a free Shortcut once: when a bank text arrives, your iPhone hands just that text to Akimoa, which reads it on the phone and waits for your OK. Nothing is uploaded.
-
Add the Akimoa Shortcut
Open this link on your iPhone and tap Add Shortcut. It has one step: “Log bank message” in Akimoa.
Get “Akimoa bank text” -
Start a Message automation
Open the Shortcuts app → Automation tab → + → Message.
Message ContainsdebitedRun ImmediatelyOnNotify When RunOff -
Set the word and run it immediately
Under Message Contains, type a word your bank uses, like debited. Choose Run Immediately so it never asks, then tap Next.
-
Pick the Akimoa Shortcut
Under My Shortcuts, choose Akimoa bank text. Tap Done.
When I get a message containing “debited”Run Akimoa bank text✓ -
Repeat for your bank's other words
Add one automation each for spent and credited (or the words your bank uses), each running the same Shortcut.
-
Try it
Send yourself a text like “Rs 250 spent at Test Cafe” and open Akimoa: it waits in Money → Log from bank messages for your OK.
Tip: test with iPhone Mirroring closed — automations may not run while the iPhone is mirrored to a Mac. If Akimoa says “Needs a fix”, the automation is running a step that isn't the Akimoa Shortcut; pick Akimoa bank text again in step 4.
What Akimoa does with the text
Only the text of that one message reaches Akimoa. It's read on your phone, one-time codes are never kept, and nothing is added until you confirm it. See how we keep data safe.
